Surviving Valentine’s Day on Your Own
If you're single, then Valentine's Day is probably your least favorite time of the year. But there's no reason to let that get you down! To keep you from drowning in the saccharine sweetness of the holiday, your pals of Adam and Eve have a few tips to help you survive the holiday with your sanity intact.
- Throw a single's party for all your non-attached friends. You can share embarrassing stories about past exes and might even meet someone you'll want to spend Valentine's Day with next year.
- Plan a special activity in advance for that night, like visiting a spa or cooking your favorite gourmet meal at home. This will help give you something to take your mind off being single and make sure you don't just sit around moping.
- Do something for the community. Visiting a hospital or a nursing home is a nice, thoughtful gesture that will mean a great deal to the patients and residents. You can even give out roses or candy!
- You might not be in a relationship, but there are still people you love and care about. So spend time with your family and friends instead.
