Sex Position of the Month

Sex Position of the Month (Continued):
The Naughty Embrace

A combination of missionary and spooning, The Naughty Embrace helps build intimacy and bring couples closer together. Start with the man lying on his back and the woman lying on top of him, with her legs and arms on the outside. The couple then rolls over on their sides, leaving one of her legs underneath him while the other is on top. This arrangement allows the couple to easily kiss and look into each other's eyes during sex - making it great for intimacy and bonding.

Q&A: Asking for what you want in bed

Dear Dr. Kat,

I've been curious about incorporating a vibrator into lovemaking with my husband. So I've been checking out the vibrators on www.AdamandEve.com but I haven't purchased yet. I have no idea how I'm supposed to bring this up to him. It's awkward figuring out how to ask for what I want.

Thank you,
Melody

Dear Melody,

First of all get to know what YOU want. Many couples buy sex toys and then try to use them together straight away but can't seem to find the right stimulation. One option is to purchase a vibe on your own and play with it before bringing it up to your husband.

Once you've figured out the lay of the land, so to speak, think about your husband's personality. Does he like surprises or does he usually need a little prep before trying something new? Ultimately, you know your relationship best.

I totally acknowledge that bringing up the subject of using a vibrator may be difficult. Even couples with the best communication skills find it difficult to discuss sex. Perhaps you can whisper the idea in his ear during your next sexual encounter, bring up that you've fantasized about him using a vibrator on you, tell him you've begun to explore the world of sex toys on your own over a glass of wine or suggest you should shop online for another one together.

You can both begin to experiment in the ways you'd like to use the vibrator. Some find it a turn on to just watch their partners use a sex toy in front of them for the first time while others like more hands on experience. Keep in mind that there are many men who are tired of initiating everything sexual in their relationships; in fact it would be a turn on for them to have their partner add something new.

Communicating your sexual desires cannot only bring you more sexual satisfaction but can also deepen your relationship as a whole. It can bring you both to a new level of intimacy that you can explore together. Adding a vibrator to your sexual repertoire is a good place to start.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kat

Sex Toys in Disguise! (Continued)

Disguised as everyday household items, you can leave these toys lying around your bedroom in plain sight without anyone knowing the truth!

6. Uberlube Good To Go
While most lubes come in easy to recognize bottles, this high-end silicone lube comes in discrete aluminum spray bottle. Just stick it with your perfume or cologne, and it'll blend right in with all the other bottles.

5. Lovearts Bondage Pillow
Designed as fashionable accessory, this pillow fits perfectly on your couch or bed. Simply tie the restraints into bows as it becomes a wonderful accent piece instead of a bondage toy. And it makes for a great afternoon nap!

4. Mini Winachi Massager
While most vibrators look like vibrators, this one looks just like your basic neck or back massager. And it doesn't have any logos or anything else that would give away its true purpose!

3. Natural Massage Oil Candle
Stored in a fashionable porcelain holder, these look like any other high-end scented candles. But these are made using massage oil to add some slippery fun to foreplay.

2. Liberator Heart-Shaped Wedge
This pillow looks just like something your partner would buy you for Valentine's Day, which would explain why you keep it lying on your bed.

1. I Rub My Duckie
While a rubber duck might look a little odd in your bedroom, this toy blends in perfectly with your bathroom. The vibrating duck is even waterproof so you can keep it in your shower for when the mood hits!

How To Get What You Want In Bed Without Actually Asking! (Continued)

What if they think you're complaining that they're not good enough, or that your current sex life isn't satisfying? What if they get offended, judge you, or even just laugh?

Of course the most straightforward way to get what you want is probably just to take a deep breath, brace yourself, and ask - but you may get more traction with a softer approach.

So I Read This Thing. "Honey, I was reading this article about this couple who tried…" Thanks to the internet, there is always an article. Find one, read it, wait for a relaxed moment, and bring it up with your partner. If your partner coyly asks whether you'd be interested, you can sheepishly say, "Well, maybe…"

It Was A Free Gift.
Adam & Eve makes this one easy. Want to try using a specific kind of toy or watching a dirty movie, but aren't sure what your lover will say? Since we send our customers all sorts of free gifts, special deals, and discounts, you can tell them you were shopping for lube or lingerie, and saw this toy/plug/movie on super sale and impulse bought it. Say "I was thinking about trying it out later…" and raise an eyebrow.

Give Enthusiastic Direction. This one is for helping to adjust technique. In the heat of the moment, become so carried away with how mind-blowing the sex is that you have to say, "Oh yeah, a little bit softer. That's it, to the left. Oh baby, harder, faster!" You want to be positive here, no frowning or saying no, just "Yes! And…" Make it a pleasure for your lover to give you what you want.

Reveal A Fantasy. You're not asking for anything, you're just telling your lover a sexy fantasy you had about the both of you, perhaps last time you were masturbating. It just ‘popped into your head'. You could even be surprised at how much you liked it. Once you've gotten the idea out there, it'll be easier to bring it back up later, after your lover has had time to process.

Try A Sex Questionnaire. The website Mojo Upgrade gives partners a checklist of all the kinky and not-so-kinky things they might be into. You and your lover both pick everything on the list you'd be into, the site tabulates your answers, and gives you a list of all the things you'd both like to do. It's the ultimate way to ask without asking.

Look, You're Probably Going To Have To Ask. Sorry. Your lover isn't psychic. Especially if your desires are a little off the beaten path, hinting often doesn't work. It's true that feelings might be hurt. And some sex acts or fantasies are simply no-go for personal or physical reasons. But it's also true that everyone wants to be a good lover. You might be pleasantly surprised what a simple request gets you.
