Your love doll has been there for you through thick and thin. But she’s been looking a little deflated lately, and you’re worried that she might have a leak. Whatever you do, don’t throw her away just yet – it’s easier to fix your leaky love doll than you might think!
1. Find out where the leak is.
In most cases, you can find it by listening for the sound of escaping air or by feeling the air blow over your skin. If you can’t find it that way, you can always plunge your love doll into a bathtub filled with water and look for bubbles. Once you find the spot, mark the area with a non-permanent marker or grease pencil.
2. Get a special vinyl repair kit.
It might cost a few dollars, but the patches and glue are specifically formulated for vinyl and will hold up longer than some general glue you grabbed off the shelf. Look for a kit with transparent patches so the repair doesn’t stand out. Your sweet and understanding love doll will thank you for your thoughtfulness.
3. Blow up your love doll.
Inflate the doll as much as you can and clean the area around the leak. The doll’s skin needs to be as flat and as smooth as possible to ensure a good seal with the patch. Any dirt or debris can weaken the glue, leading to more leaks in the future.
4. Pull out the repair kit.
The patch should be circular in shape and slightly larger than the hole. Most pinhole leaks just need a square inch or so. Apply a thick bead of glue around the leak and around the patch. Press the patch against the love doll and shift it around slightly to spread the glue out. Add a small bead of glue around the edges of the patch and smooth it out so the patch doesn’t stand out.
5. Let the glue and patch dry.
Generally, you should let the patch cure for about 24 - 48 hours, depending on the instructions included in the repair kit. Once the glue has finished setting, you can enjoy a happy reunion with your no-longer-leaking love doll.
