Hillsborough, N.C. - Local adult retailer PHE, Inc. celebrated the dedication of the Habitat for Humanity home it sponsored on Saturday, October 20th on Tulip Tree Rd. in Hillsborough.
Work on the home began in March, when PHE agreed to sponsor one of the homes being constructed by Habitat for Humanity in Hillsborough. The home is a part of 18 lots that Habitat is building in the Fairview Community. This new community is on Tulip Tree Rd., and is part of a larger effort to revitalize the Fairview area by creating affordable homes and more opportunities for residents to take control of their neighborhood and work together.
For over 16 weeks, PHE employees volunteered in 4-hour shifts to help build the Habitat home which will be purchased by a family of 6 from Chapel Hill. This family has been living in a cramped 3-bedroom apartment on a very limited income. Thanks to PHE, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity’s collaborative efforts, this family will now enjoy a larger, free-standing home with a yard for the children to play in. PHE volunteers celebrated with the family and saw them moved into their new home on Saturday during the dedication ceremony.
