The end ruined it
Here I was enjoying this movie, until I noticed something. This movie had some good scenes. But a weak plot for even a plot based porn, and a bitter unhappy ending rather ruined the overall experience.

CARMEN FIZZLES...
This movie was a disappointment, not very much bondage or submissive acts, just a bad plotline that could have been better thought out. Carmen is gorgeous though, any arousal reached was duly because of her actions.

My wife and I liked the DVD but expected more erotic sex scenes. The scenes were good but overall the movie seemed long and drawn out. Just not a freaky as expected. A good value in the combo pack.

If you're a carmen fan this one's for you. The photo sessions are a nice addition. Evan really gets to show off his s&m side. Plot although a little thin, flows well. Warning, the old lady's kind of nasty looking.

A Huge Letdown
I have recently purchased this movie in the hopes of it being as well made as the Original film. Unfortunately this was not the case. Not only did the movie lack adequate acting it was poorly directed, poorly lit, and susequently horribly filmed. I could hacve done better in the post-production aspect of this movie than the idiots who were paid to finish the film. I am sorry to say that this was a poor attempt at modernizing a truely Erotic movie and even better book.

Well this is different than what I expected. I don't know if I like the narrative, but it's alright. It doesn't turn me on like some of the other video's we have. I was hoping to see a little more dominating the submissive. Instead of seeing her in situations where she starts to become submissive it's hard to explain you would have to watch it to see.

Not as "O" as I thought it might bee
This 2007 remake of "The Story Of O" was I bet of a let down for me. I have a copy of the 1975 movie and although it didn't have the coupling that this story had, it's storyline was better. Even with its update storyline "O The Power of Submission didn't give me the sense any character was giving in or dominate. And that may have been the point. In one generation, O is truly a different woman.

Very dissapointed
Bought the movie for because I wanted to see what different things you could do in a bondage situation, but all they did was show someone tied up, and then had a sex scene without the use of any bonds! WTF! Going to return it. Not worth the $$ spent on it...

Not what we were looking for but it was not bad
I have a huge thing for Evan Stone and he did not let me down in this video. We are also a huge Carmen Luvana fans! But this vidoe was NOT bonage and submission video. We were expecting a lot more from this video and it was not what it was advertised to be. The story line??? Terrible-- we turned in down because it was so bad.

Close...but "no cigar!"
Good attempt at taking the original to the next step. However, though more graphic in some respects, it lacked the "class" and eroticism of the origina. Hard to beat the original...but good attempt...and still arrousing in a number of aspects.

Not Bad
I have read the book and watched the orginial movie - and when ordering this movie knew that I was going to get one more about sex then about the psychological side of the story. O in this story is more wordly than in the story - but I did notice that the scene with the anal plug was included, unlike the orginal movie. My husband and I enjoyed this movie - especially since living in Canada does limit our ability to get many movies that include both bondage and sex. Good for someone that enjoys basic bondage and domination - not that great for someone that enjoys the true mental aspect of S&M or B&D or wants a true reflection of the book.

Not a bad adaptation
They seem to have been fairly loyal to the spirit of the book. I wish there was more S&M. Also, Nina Hartley's narration kinda took me out of the "mood" because of her lisp.

Definitely Worth Purchasing
The car scene at the beginning was really hot...could have extended it with some back-seat humping to make it even better. The photography was super, the girl-on-girl scenes were great from every angle. I would have preferred more bound-and-gagged scenes with dildo use, but I'm wasn't the writer of this story. All in all, a very good movie to get your motor really revved up.

not for hardcore bondage lovers!
this is an ok movie. not the greatest but not the worse either. it has it's wonderful moments but not too many of them. if you like the story line porns that are pretty much like watching a really dirty r rated film then this is for you. if you like the hardcore bondage stuff don't waste your money.

This movie could have been very good. Instead, it bored me and my boyfriend. It was only mildly erotic. The bondage was mostly used for costume and little else. Don't waste your money if you are looking for real bondage.

The Story of O

hot idea, but poor follow through
Jumped at the chance to own a new, hardcore "O". Read an ad for it, and thought that maybe they did it right. It was hot at times, but just in a regular "hardcore" sort of way, no real Ds spice for me. The narrator was awful, and "O" seemed more bored than entranced. Costumes were hot, and the sex scenes were good, but again, I was expecting Ds romance and erotic tension, a good bondage or Ds flick where they "went all the way".....this was not it.

Could be better
My wife was pretty excited when I told her I bought this DVD after she read the excerpt from the catalog. We were all ready for our "movie night" with our booty bumpers, but were quickly disappointed with the story. I know, I know - story in a porno - that's an oxy-moron, but while the action is good, the story just doesn't carry the sex scenes. We began to scratch our heads at the dialog after a bit and haven't finished the movie - yet. My favorite is still the Pirates movie. I'd suggest passing this one by, unless you really want to see Carmen have anal sex.

I was slightly disappointed. The acting and script were decent as far as this genre of file. I was hoping to see more scenes of male dominance/female submission. They seemed to have tried to hard to make it a film than to focus on the bdsm theme. It was still pretty hot if you weren't looking for the above.

All around horrible movie
This updated "Story of O" lacks all the wit and style of the original movie, and pales in comparison to the book. The acting is just plain awful, and what's worse for a porno, the sex is even more horrible than that. It's striclty by the numbers, and it's clear that many of the "actors" are there just for the paycheck. There is absolutely NO chemistry amoung or between any of them. We love Nina Hartley, 20 years ago when she was a star, and in her instructional videos, but she was totally miscast in this movie. Carmen Luvana tries to rise above the plot, writing and lack of acting and sex appeal, but sadly she seems to think that being louder will somehow do this. The lesbian scenes lack any real sense of enjoyment on the actresses' part, and the hetero scenes often have the males limp. All-in-all, a very bad video. Save your money and buy the Story of O if you can find it, or better yet, get the book and read it with your partner and then enjoy the BDSM as written in that classic novel.

Consenting Submission doesnt get any better!
There's not a slow spot in this entire movie. By the end of the Scene 1, my wife's soft spot was "soaked".. By the end of scene 2 she was begging --- and by the middle of scene 3, it was multiple-orgasm city... This is a fantastic film providing insight into "consensual" submission and the actors and actresses put it all out.... We havent finished the film yet, but when we do I'm sure it will be another "soaked" session. Thanks to director Ernest Green and Nina for a good one.... We'd like to see just a little more story line next time, but with just as much great eroticism as this time....

We had high expectations for this movie, as the last one we purchased was phenomonal. Unfortunately, this movie did not live up to our expectations. It seems poorly filmed and only a couple of the couples are really that hot. This was a big disappointment for us compared to other movies.

Good value!.
My first glimpse of BDSM!. Not a bad experience. Built around a classic story, you got this out-of-this-world atmosphere, with the dundgeon & the rest of the parafelnalia. So, Carmen stole the show with her domineering personality, shown by her ability to get angry, & noticeable beauty. Personally I ddn't find the other models very attractive, but I think the producers meant it that way, to fit the story. The extras were eye openers into the making of a porn DVD, & you got to see the models sharing a laugh with the crew.

story of o is a rich and vibrant tale, one which touches the basest element of love and control and as such is interesting...this rendition is crass, vulgar, base and thoroughly unwatchable...the female actors are uninspired with bloated bodies and distorted breasts and the guys are worse...all of the actors in this are unattractive...there is no story, nothing to hold one's interest...what a dope I was to buy into this...it's gross, disgusting and without merit...and badly filmed

A Great Movie, I would rate it 10 stars if I could
This is the best movie that I have seen in a long, long time. The acting was excellent and the movie set was the best and the girls were outstanding. If I only had the money to buy one movie this year it would be this one.

DIFFRENT STROKES
This as the first adult retelling of the book stands out as a great work, The aclaimed director Ernest Greene has out doen him self with the right mix of S & M and pure sex action in the feature. Carman Luvana stands out as a indepentant "O", bringing a beliveablity to the role, much better than the version played by Corrine Clery

misleading
lots of girls with ankle and wrist cuffs on, but not tied to anything. there is no bondage, submission, etc except in brief shots of photoshoots. if you are looking for any bondage, s&m... this movie is not for you.

OK Porn, but not the "Story of O"
For the person looking for a porn flick with a story, some good production values and some slightly risque sex, this is a good film. For the person looking for an explicit, film version of "The Story of O," it isn't. There are a number of changes from the book, and while the vast majority make no real difference (such as updating it to modern times, setting it in L.A. instead of Paris, and including women in the Chateau as Masters as well as servant), there is one change that is unavoidable. In the novel, O is somewhat naive and has no background with dominance or bondage; indeed, this is explicitly stated. She is asked to consent to things without truly understanding them, and is in way over her head. And the point of the novel is that she *knows* she is in over her head, and does it anyway. In the movie, O is worldly, a photographer not for a fashion magazine but a bondage website. During her introduction at the Chateau she not only speaks, she admits proudly to having participated in bondage before. Throughout the movie she is never out of control. There is no sense of her being unable to stopwhenever she wants. The sex is good; the girl-girl scene is amazing & I usually skip those. The story is interesting and the acting above the curve. But this is not the "Story of O," and ultimately disappoints.

Take a dash of kink and a splash of story, add in some hotter than hell sex and you've got Ernest Greene's latest. With a collection of bodies like Carmen Luvana, Nina Hartley, Kylie Ireland, Evan Stone, Tommy Gunn, you can't go wrong. This movie has it all - girl on girl, oral sex, anal pleasure, loooooong and hot sex scenes. If you want some story to go along with your hot sex, get this movie.

Really a disappointment...
How excited I was to learn about an updated "O" movie. I pre-ordered from Adam and Eve, and waited patiently. Overall, it was just "okay." We are really big "O" fans, especially of the original book. In fact, we have one of largest "Histoire d'O" literature collections in the country... Everything from the '54 Olympia Press to the '54 1st French edition of 600 to Fini and Crepax. I'm afraid this movie version misses Aury's/Desclos' point altogether (regardless of what the director says), but I am bisexual and totally hot for Carmen Luvana. She lights up the screen. Mmmmmmm. Yes, a disappointment overall, but worth at least one view for all those girls - WOW!!!
