A porn movie with a plot! It's great! The picture quality is good, the sex scenes are at least halfway believable, and the movie remotely resembles the real pirates movie. However, the soundtrack sometimes drowns out the actors' voices. Overall, I would recommend.

When this one arrived in the mail my wife looked at it as just another boring porn. We bothed started watching it and within minutes we were all over each other! The cinematography is suberb as it has a more "shot on film" feel to it. The production values are the best I have seen in an adult film and the action is scorching! The actors are totally into each other, both figuratively and literally! The money shots were great, as my wife who usually is never to was tuned on by them! I just got this dvd in the mail today and boy do i say it is one of the best i got so far. The dialoge was actually well read and there was no delays in it also, that made it actually fun to watch cause there were some funny parts in it too. The storyline was well thought up and just seeing them sexy ladies in pirate costumes made for an instant rise!! The action was also pretty intense as well, not just the fighting, but the sex scense. I really really loved watching Jesse Jane go at it with Janine. This is a must have for anybody who has ever dreamed of watching a porn with pirate chicks in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This certainly ranks as a 'couples' film so those looking for a little more 'hardcore' action may want to look elsewhere. That said, the costumes, set, music, effects are all top rate for porn. The women are super hot with some good girl-girl action. The male-female is pretty standard fare. The 2nd DVD is packed with extras - so that is a bonus. Only reason for the 4 star rating is that some of the sex scenes are too far apart. Not a biggy is a standard movie...sort of bummer in a porno. However - if you are looking to start your wife out with porn and a popcorn night..this is the DVD.

It's sorta weird to be writing this thing before I've even seen the movie, but I'm really pumped up about it! I've checked out the trailer and the promo pics, adn everything just really looks kick-ass! It's hard to tell what the action will be like. (I guess they don't want to give too much away.) But, anything with a cast of fine-looking babes like Carmen and the others is bound to rule! Besides, if this is anything like Rawhide, Pirates is gonna be wicked hot and i don't want to have to wait any longer than necessary before I slip this into my DVD player. Besides the sex, it's got explosions, sword fights, adn even good jokes - check out the trailer for that turn the boat around line, lol! I'll repost once I've actually watched it to let you know more.

Exceeded my expectations

Congrats to Joone for the good story and directing and Massimo for the good screenplay. I also liked the sense of humor that was maintained troughout the movie. The cast gave above average performances, and not just the sexual kind!
I think this is the only movie I've seen where none of the sex scenes are bad. At the risk of giving something away, I have to say that seeing Janine's performance with Tommy Gunn makes me wish she never had a "girls only" rule!
My only dislikes are:
1. The computer generated animation could've looked better, but the cost of the DVD almost certainly would've been higher!
2. The software interface for the HD-DVD has some bugs. I found it strange that I can pause the movie with "ctrl-P" but couldn't resume it the same way. Sometimes, I couldn't get out of pause. The only way around it (without quitting the movie entirely) is to go to the main menu and go to the chapter you were watching.
These dislikes, however, do NOT detract from the overall enjoyability of Pirates. If Adam & Eve plans on making another movie with Digital Playground, I look forward to it.

This movie was a little slow in starting out, but it really picked up speed and my husband and I enjoyed it immensely!!! It was nice to see an actual PLOT! We laughed quite a bit at the dialogue, and I have to say the women were not the best actresses, but seriously, is that really what there known for? Overall, one of the better movies we have seen in a long time.

Contrary to her usual eye rolling at the korny script and cheesy looking studs, she had these comments, "this is the first film I've laughed out loud at" and "where did they get these special effects?" But her best comment was in one of the opening scenes where she said something to the effect of the man being the best looking guy she's seen in a film to date...This film had HOT stars, a good script and an excellent plot. Very couple friendly, it kept us entertained, turned on and awaiting the coming scenes.

Since my girlfriend and I bought this movie based on the positive recommendations by viewers on this site, I feel I should contribute my own observations. Basically, the feeling I got from this movie was that it tries too hard, although admirably so. I can respect the fact that the producers of this feature want to present viewers with something out of the ordinary, beyond your average skin flick. On that count, they definitely deliver. The question is, though, what do you want in a porn movie? If you want good costumes, good sets, a halfway decent plot, bad acting, even worse dialogue, and really cheesy digital effects, then this is the movie for you. If you want really hot sex that will turn you on, without a bunch of other things that could turn you off, then you might want to look elsewhere. Both my g/f and I found all the "big budget" stuff of this film interfered with the primary intent of any adult material: namely, to turn us on. It's hard to feel turned on when we're laughing at how bad the acting is, or how silly the dialogue is, or how ironic it is that pirates - not the first image one associates with safety - use condoms. And maybe it's just me, but I don't find pirates to be all that sexy anyway, so the theme was lost on me from the get-go. (I suppose I should feel grateful that these pirates are all well groomed "down there." I really don't want period authenticity in that area.) The sex itself was good, but I personally felt it was a bit technical, like the performers were doing a job, rather than really being into what they were doing. I'm not saying this movie isn't worth a look; it definitely is. But I do feel it isn't worth all the praise and hype it has been receiving, especially given the price. There are many other videos out there that do the job with less fanfare and a lower price tag.

This is a very well done film with some surprisingly good acting and well written humorous dialogue. The quality of the film was great, but there was to much time in between sex scenes. My husband and I agreed that you would get hot and then all of a sudden the scene was over. You would then have like 10 minutes before another sexual scene and you would be hot again. This continues throughout the entire movie, but the scenes did get better as the movie progressed.

Pirates is arguably the biggest adult DVD release of all time. Rumored to have a huge budget, and having the look of, if not a mainstream feature, then at least a mainstream made-for-cable feature, right off the bat you can tell it's vastly different than your run-of-the-mill porn. Other reviews I've read had touted this as one of the most enjoyable adult movies of all time, and as being just as watchable and enjoyable as most mainstream films. While I can't entirely agree with those statements, I can say that, for a porn, it's pretty darn good.
The plot--yes, it actually kind of has one--centers around Evan Stone and Jesse Jane as pirate hunters, tracking down the most ruthless pirate on the seas, who as abducted Carmen Luvana's new husband, who holds the key to vast treasure and supernatural power. Unfortunately, that one-sentence synopsis has a bit more depth than the entire movie. For a porn, though, it holds together better than most, doesn't have too many gratuitous sidetracks, and manages to incorporate some decent humor into the mix. It's loaded with special effects that would be sub-par in anything else, but which should be considered spectacular and groundbreaking for a porn. The action ranges from amateurish to laughable, but to be honest, I've seen worse.
One area in which this deserves a bit of praise is in the acting. I know, you don't exactly watch a porn for the acting, but as far as porns go, this one was a notch above the rest. Evan Stone, who seems to be one of the better actors in adult films today, turned in an even a better performance than normal. Most of the rest of the cast okay as well in the more lighthearted scenes, but anytime drama or Janine came into the mix, the quality dropped off precipitously. I'd read that the entire cast was required to take some acting lessons before and during the shoot. I can only assume that Janine was exempt from these.
The DVD is loaded with extras, including an HD-DVD copy of the film. I'll admit that I haven't watched any of the extras yet, but I'll at least give credit for the obvious wealth of bonus content provided. From a quality standpoint, the movie looks and sounds great. I've yet to see an adult release that looks this good.
Bottom line, if you're looking for a solid plot, great acting, and eye-popping special effects, then you shouldn't be in the video stores back room to begin with. But if you're looking for a fun, watchable, couples-oriented adult feature, then this is one of the best out there. While it's no Devil In Miss Jones 3 & 4, it's rather enjoyable, and has a decent replay value. Recommended.

I really didnt like the candle sceen but other then that it gets a 10. I got so horny i had to jump my husband right then and there. My husband and I have watched numerous porn movies; from just sex to a movie with some sex. This movie had some great sex scenes, but the lighting was so poor that you could not actually see the action. Most of the scenes went from a dialoge to the middle of a sex act. I enjoy watching the actual penetration, not just the act. The best scenes for both my husband and I were the HOT girl on girl scenes. That made up for the other flaws.

Evan Stone is an actor! Who would have thought? I always make fun of porn acting. Always. This time, I shut up. Most of the acting is great, and this is worth watching for the (intentional) comedy alone. The girl on girl scenes seem unusually sincere, and the sets were nice, lush, and not overdone. Even the special effects were quite respectable.

Just when I decided to look for a different source for movies because they all seemed to have the same actors and the same "no plot" stories, I saw the reviews of Pirates. I decided to take a chance and was very surprised at the overall quality of this DVD.
It was a good movie with a real plot that you can follow. The sex scenes are very good of course because the people are all pros.
This is a DVD I highly recommend.
If you have a partner you are just introducing to porn movies, this is a great one because it has a plot but they don't make you wait too long between the hot scenes.

All right, so you watched the third Pirates of the Carribean movie and you're a little angry that Johnny Depp, Bloom, and Knightley never flashed a little skin for the camera... This is a terrific movie! My wife's biggest complaint with most movies is their extreme lack of backstory. Women apparently like that sort of thing. Who knew!? Kidding aside, the scenes were hot, the women were gorgeous, the story was enough to keep you interested in the rest of the movie and create a flow between scenes. If another movie of this nature is ever made, I will definitely buy it.

This movie was certainly entertaining for an adult film. No doubt the contumes and effects were a pleasant addition. However, we watch adult films for the sex. All in all, the sex scenes were sharp providing plenty of stimulation which my wife enjoyed. Yet, the scenes were too heavily edited leaving no natural flow although perhaps there is no natural flow when pirates fornicate. It seems there should have been an anal scene as well, but there was none. Overall, it is a fine production, but I am not sure it is worth its high price.

From the first scenes, I knew this would be a different porn movie I've seen yet. And I was right! The acting was cheesy (in fact, it was downright laughable) but I loved the movie anyway! The sex scenes were hot! I was so wet after watching it... I dragged my husband to bed! And he couldn't believe how wet I was. If the acting were actually genuine, top-notch acting, this movie would be the ultimate for me. Myself, I do not favour your regular porn movies, but I hope this creates a new generation of porn. Seriously when I bought this it was because my boyfriend wanted it, and I thought to myself a porno about pirates, ewwww what is wrong with him. Then one night he asked me to please watch it with him so I did. I was astound to see how tastefully done it was. The woman are beautiful and sexy, the dialog is witty, and the charecters are all around amazing. The scenes are the perfect length and at times I actually for got I was watching a xxx rated film. The story line is better than some non x-rated features. Also my boyfriend was shocked and aroused to see that a woman actually was turned on by the sex scenes. It is deffinatly an all time favorite of mine, and I would reccomend it to anyone.

The music was pretty awesome too...especially when serina was with the pirate captain.....that sex scene was AWESOME! There was no acting in that scene....that was pure OMG! You can see that SHE is in control.....she is my new hero! yes it did have a few cheesy parts....but don't they all? I think the director did a fantastic job with costumes, make up and the acting believe it or not! i can't wait to see the rest of it hehe!

This movie has some very hot sex and somewhat follows a plot although it's obvious the actors aren't selected solely for their dramatic abilities. I watched alone first and then with my girl. We both enjoyed it and thought it was well done. Personaly I am a fan of Carmen, however I think Jesse was even hotter. We both agree that Janine stole the show with her scene. About the only negatives we had was Fabios over acting. While we are sure he was doing that bad Captain Kirk immitation for laughs it got a little old after a short time. One thing none of us found erotic was the spitting on one another. The scene with Carmen and Jesse spitting on each other realy broke the mood. Our friends concured. Other than that we enjoyed the movie very much.

It is really good. Good costumes, good clear photography, most of the acting is good some a little iffy, all of the actors are good looking even the background people and story is good. only down side is some of the computer generated ship stuff but it is good enough for the story. I really enjoyed it so far.

The sex scenes were way to short to get into, and there was way to much bad acting between scenes. Also, four out of the ten scenes were girl-girl, which I thought was a little to much. There was absolutely nothing remotely worth watching on the special features disc. Still, it wasn't bad. It had a great cast and the scene with austyn moore and evan stone was great.

All right, so you watched the third Pirates of the Carribean movie and you're a little angry that Johnny Depp, Bloom, and Knightley never flashed a little skin for the camera... This movie is very well done. Evan Stone is a great actor and is funny as well. The women are all great looking. The costumes are great as are the sets. The plot is pretty good as far as porn goes, but is a bit drawn out at times with about 20 min in between sex scenes. It's couple friendly. My husband liked it but found it a long wait in between the sex scenes as did I. However, I had to return the movie as my dvd player made a loud buzzing sound and vibrated when I played it. I found out that the problem was mostly likely caused by the disk being imbalanced. It almost got stuck in my player, but luckily I was able to get it out. I have a Sanyo player and when I called the company about the problem they said their players are known for being "fussy" if a disk is imperfect in any way. However, I bought another dvd player and it did the same thing. How unfortunate as this is a worth while movie...

The plot line was just different enough from the POTC franchise for it to be really interesting and exciting. The dialogue feels strained at times (mostly from Carmen and Jesse), but it evens out in the end because the men and Janine are so great. My husband and I bought this movie based on the reviews. This is not what I thought it would be. There was LONG time in between sex scenes. Spent way too much time on the plot. The girl on girl action was ok at best. I would not recommend this movie is you are looking for a lot of sex scenes!!!

This is a great movie, really very different than any other adult videos...more of a "real" movie with explicit sex. Actors are hot and it actually has a story line. My wifes favorite movie, hands down!!!

Bought this movie from a recommendation from the store clerk, but found it to be blah at best. Bad camera, bad lighting, bad acting, bad special effects. Adult movies should stay what they have been and not try to match Hollywood in my opinion.
